Ministry Of Finance Celebrates Israk Mikraj

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Finance and departments under it yesterday organised an Israk Mikraj celebration at the Theatre Hall, Ministry of Finance Building in Berakas. It was attended by over 50 officers, including the heads of departments and sections under the ministry.

Present as chief guest was Dato Paduka Haji Ali bin Apong, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Finance.

Also present was Deputy Permanent Secretary Hj Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos.

The ceremony began with an al-Quran reading by Hj Ibrahim bin Hj Mohammad, the assistant superintendent of Customs at the Royal Customs and Excise Department. Hj Ibrahim was last year's Tilawatil al-Quran champion.

There was also a special religious talk by Ustaz Awang Hj Ismail bin Mohd Ariff, an invited lecturer from the Islamic Dakwah Centre, Ministry of Religious Affairs. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
