Indonesian Actress To Lead Mass
Aerobics In Bandar

Begawan - Famous Indonesian actress Kiki Fatmala, 35, is set to
emphasise the importance of physical exercise and aerobics to beat
obesity when she leads the public for mass aerobics to be held this
Sunday (October 2) morning, at the Taman Haji Sir Omar Ali Saifuddien
in the capital.
De Hayat Musical and Production will
be sponsoring the appearance of Kiki Fatmala, a famous Indonesian film
and cinema actress since early 1980s. The actress is scheduled to
arrive tomorrow in time for the mass aerobics.
The mass aerobics is part of several
activities that has been lined up to commemorate the 35th anniversary
of the capital being renamed Bandar Seri Begawan from Bandar Brunei.
The event is organised by the Bandar
Seri Begawan Municipal Board. Municipal Officer Hj Jamaluddin OKMD Hj
Saman said the presence of Kiki is meant to relay a clear message to
government agencies and the public that fitness is vital towards their
participation innation building and economic progress.
He said the half-an-hour morning
activity will commence at lam and interested members of the public
should be present at the Taman beforehand.
He added there will be many events
for public participation including drawing and colouring contests,
street basketball, walk-a-hunt, the Search for Brunei's Iron Man,
Tug-of-War and various other games. He called for the public to
participate or witness the planned activities which are organised not
only to commemorate the capital's change of name but also to unite the
population of the town towards solidarity to ensure growth, peace and
stability.
The sponsors, De Hayat Musical &
Production's Managing Director, Pg Hj Abu Bakar Pg Hj Othman, said his
company decided to sponsor the aerobic session because of the
importance of exercise towards better life and health.
He said people, especially women, who
indulge in aerobics would gain such benefits including increased
cardiopulmonary efficiency, strengthened heart and lungs, improved
circulation, lowered cholesterol levels, and stress and anxiety
reduction.
"Chances are, a successful aerobics
regimen will bring out the body you've always dreamed of, and a better
feeling about yourself both physically and mentally," he said. --
