Nine Restaurants Under Scrutiny In Belait District

Kuala Belait - Nine restaurants in Seria and Kuala Belait were inspected in a joint operation by the Seria and Belait Municipal Department and the Health Department yesterday.

"Operasi Kawal Empat" was conducted by eight officers from the Enforcement Unit of the Municipal Department and the Health Department from gam till 11.30am.

The operation which was headed by Awg Abu Basrah bin Hj Md Masor, Head of Enforcement Unit Municipal Department, and Health Officer, Hjh Norlelawati bte Hj

Johari, was aimed at ensuring that buildings and business premises abide by the Municipal By-laws.

The operation also looked into the safety of customers to ensure that the restaurants follow the conditions of their business licenses and comply with cleanliness standards.

In the report, the Municipal Department said that during the operation, various issues were raised and the restaurant operators were informed that another operation would be conducted in a week to ensure that the issues have been addressed. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
