UBD To Hold Seminar On Borneo Dialects

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Department of Malay Language & Linguistics, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, University Brunei Darussalam is organising an international seminar on The Austronesian Dialects ofNusantara II from October 1-3 at the Chancellor Hall.

Themed "Dialects in Borneo: Challenge and Identity," it will focus on the different debates of language, dialects, sub dialects and other various languages found in Borneo.

It aims to materialise the mission of the Malay Language & Linguistics Department to set up a research centre and to have a proactive research on the languages of Borneo to fit in the spread of dialects of Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei Darussalam.
