Ministry Of Defence Holds Quran Reading Competition

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Defence held a Quran Reading Final competition for Adult yesterday at Dewan Pahlawan, Berakas Garrison.

Present as the guest of honour was Dato Paduka Awang Hj EusoffAgaki bin Haji Ismail, Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, who later presented the prizes.

Also present were Commander of RBAF, Pehin Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Hj Md Yusof and Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, Hj Mustappa bin Hj Sarat.

Six participants (three males and three females) competed in the competition with Sid (U) Asriwandey bin Hj Majid (16176) emerging as champion in the male category while Hjh Norhayati binti Awg Hj Ahmad won in the female category.

The second and third places in the male category went to Hj Ishak bin Hj Abd Manap and Cpl (U) Hj Omardani bin Hj Jaluddin (14422) respectively.

In the female category the second and third place winners were Dyg Syaimaa binti Ruslan and Dyg Jamilah binti Hj Pudin respectively. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
