14 Local Smes Join International Fair In KL

Bandar Seri Begawan - Fourteen small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the Sultanate are currently participating at an international fair in Kuala Lumpur in the efforts to showcase solutions and resource providers in the region in order to create a platform for them to expand their business networks and establish trade partnerships globally.

The 6th International Strategic Partnership and Business Networking Trade Fair for Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (Global SMEs 2005), which began on Sept. 22 will end today at the Putra World Trade Centre, KL.

Led by delegation head, Mariani Haji Sabtu and liaison officer, Siti Abidah binti Alli of the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR), the 14 companies are selected by the agency based on their local trade performances and the potential of their products and services to be globally accepted.'

The companies are Perusahaan Hikmah exhibiting brocade, Ridah Handicraft (handicraft, fashion), Hjh Naimah & Anak-Anak Ent (biscuits, dry food), Amadah Textile (fashion, textile), Nabhan Food Industry & Services (dry foods), G Salam.S. Restoran (dry food, biscuits), Sri Lyeira Enterprise (chilli sauce, honey, cereals, chicken rice, cakes, biscuits), Puncak Rezeki Trading Co (traditional cakes, biscuits), Perusahaan Aminah (Belacan paste, ambuyat sauce, spices, dry food), HKH Fastfood & Takeaway (cookies, chips), Syarikat Rosmawey (brocade), Syarikat Utama Jaya (brocade), SyarikatAsnika (handicraft, fashion) and Perusahaan Zainab Utama (dry food, biscuits).

Occupying some 350 booths, the fair is also participated by SMEs from 14 other countries including Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, Laos, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, the Middle East, South Korea, China, Japan, New Zealand and Taiwan.

Siti Abidah said the objectives of local companies participating at international fairs are meant to promote their products and services to the global market and provide exposure to the international marketing climate and environment.
