BELTA To Hold First AGM

Begawan - The Brunei English Language Teachers' Association (BELTA)
announced that its first Annual General Meeting 2005 will take place
on Friday, 23rd September at 9.00am in the Auditorium of the Paduka
Seri Begawan Science College, Jalan Muara.
BELTA was officially launched on
August 7, 2004 by the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of
Education, Dato Paduka Hj Sheikh Adnan Sheikh Mohammad. Now merely a
year old, BELTA has published two periodicals (BELTA Matters) and
successfully co-organised the National English Language Teaching
Conference 2005 last August.
On October 19, 2005, BELTA will hold
its first ever district-level Spelling Competition in the Belait
District.
Twenty government and private schools
have been invited to participate in the event.
All BELTA members and interested
parties are invited to attend the upcoming AGM 2005 where the
Executive Committee will present its annual reports. Also on the
agenda will be a proposed BELTA programme of activities for 2005-2006,
according to a Press Release from the association.
A membership registration booth for
new applicants will be set up at the venue during the meeting.
Meanwhile members who have not
renewed their yearlong membership from 2004 may do so at the event.
