Brunei And Malaysia Graft-Busters
Open Meeting

Begawan - The Brunei Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) and its
Malaysian counterpart, the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) yesterday
morning met for their annual Bilateral Cooperation Meeting at the
Centrepoint Hotel in Gadong. The meeting is the third one since 2002.
The Brunei delegation is led by
Director of ACB, Datin Paduka Hjh Intan bte Hj Md Kassim, while the
Malaysian delegation is represented by 10 senior officers headed by
ACA Director General, Datuk Zulkipli Mat Noor.
Among the agenda and working papers
to be discussed during the meeting are cooperation in investigations,
community education on the dangers of corruption and prevention.
Since the establishment of the
bilateral cooperation between the two graft-busting agencies, several
important developments have been achieved especially in the exchange
of information, training, investigations and joint operation.
The Director of ACB in her welcoming
remarks at the start of the meeting highlighted the importance of the
ACB and ACA cooperation that has paved the way for further
multilateral cooperation with other countries in the region. Last
year, the meeting was held in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. --
