Call To Upkeep Unoccupied Govt Quarters

Bandar Seri Begawan - Several government quarters located near the National Stadium in Berakas have been left abandoned and unattended to as these buildings have not been occupied for a long time.

According to one of the public members who frequently visit the stadium, these houses were once occupied by army officers from the 1970s to 1980s.

He was saddened by the present conditions of these quarters surrounded by overgrown grass.

He is also concerned that these empty buildings could be turned into ideal hideouts for drug addicts or places for criminal activities.

He thus called on the relevant authority to either renovate or pull down the unoccupied structures. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
