Sponsors At Signing Ceremony For
RTB’s ‘Menjejak Kampung II’ Project

Begawan - A signing ceremony between RTB and sponsors of the
upcoming RTB project: "Menjejak Kampung II" was held at RTB's Studio
`A' yesterday afternoon.
Signing on behalf of RTB was its
Acting Director, Awg Hj Yusup Hj Abd Rahman.
This project is aimed at realising
the department's desire to have a more effective approach in getting
close to the general public.
Yesterday's signing ceremony saw
eleven companies - Jasra Harrisons Sdn Bhd & Nestle Products Sdn Bhd,
Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd, Delcol Marketing Services, Syarikat Aliaa Sdn Bhd,
A.Ayam Berjaya Restaurant, Bonyan Import & Export, Nyonya Restaurant,
Quadra Vision Professional Balloon Decoration, NBT (Brunei) Sdn Bhd,
Little Bean Company and Bru Trends - each represented by its own
representatives to sign on behalf of the respective sponsors.
Sponsorships included the
contribution of prizes in quizzes as well as other forms of
competition.
The project is in line with the theme
song of the first programme's "Membina Masyarakat Penyayang" (Building
of A Caring Society) composed by Pehin Dato Hj Abd Ghani Pehin Datu
Paduka Hj Abdul Rahim, which have also been selected as the theme for
this second programme.
Speaking to the Bulletin, Head of
Radio Services, Pg Ahmad Pg Hj Mahmud, in his capacity as the Deputy
Chairman cum Project Manager, disclosed that the project, involving
six villages under Mukim Kilanas, will be officiated this September
23, and a variety of activities has been lined up.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs,
Pehin Dato Awg Hj Dani Hj Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the
project that will take place at the Bendahara Sakam Primary School in
Bunut.
He also said that the programme was
first carried out as a radio-based project last May which saw Kg Lumut
being selected as the first Mukim and was then upgraded to an RTB
project with the involvement of its radio, television and news
sections.
In this second programme, residents
of the Mukim with the cooperation of RTB have made their initiatives
to start the programme prior to the official event where a bazaar is
currently held at the premises of the primary school.
At the same time, they have launched
the Mukim Kilanas Welfare Fund for the utilisation of needy residents
of the Mukim, and proceeds from the project will be donated to the
fund. Also taking place is a recording of stage show conducted nightly
until September 25.
Among the line-up of events at the
programme includes a showcase of performances by respective villages
under the Mukim to highlight their culture and ethnic dances and
products.
Radio Brunei's Nasional Network will
be conducting,' a `Nescafe Tarik' competition while open concept
quizzes will be conducted by Pilihan Network for callers to the
station as well as members of the public at the event, with Saturday's
quiz focusing on the Teacher's Day celebration.
Both RTB and residents of Mukim
Kilanas will also be conducting a volunteer work involving the
demolishing and cleaning up of a house belonging to Awg Hj Osman in Kg
Perpindahan Bunut.
The project will officially conclude
on Sunday, September 25, with a sponsored walkhaton to be officiated
by Minister of Home Affairs, Pehin Dato Awg Hj Adanan Begawan Pehin
Siraja Khatib Dato Seri SetiaAwg Hj Mohd Yusof.
Following the walkathon, a contest
called "Cabaran Kuali" (Wok Challenge) conducted by the Harmoni
Network, will see participants taking part in a cooking competition.
There will also be a "Teh Tarik" competition and "Sukan Muhibbah"
between RTB and Mukim Kilanas.
Also included in the line up of
activities are live radio broadcast of Suboh Prayers from the three
mosques in Mukim Kilanas.
The Nur Islam Network meanwhile will
be broadcasting the Friday prayers from the Bunut Mosque.
Members of the public will also have
the opportunity to witness participants battling out in a Karaoke
competition organised by the Pelangi Network, to be chosen as `Bintang
Mukim Kilanas. --
