Room For Improvement In Production
Of Local Dramas
By Lyna Mohammad
Bandar Seri
Begawan - The creation of local dramas since the privatisation
of local production houses over the last 10 years have shown some
progress but yet there is still room for improvement for dramas to
reach international standard.
The importance of a drama production
lies in its quality and not quantity to attract viewers' interest in
watching the programme.
Another important factor is for the
production houses to market their product wisely, without relying on
RTB alone but to diversify to other establishments and be able to
penetrate the regional market.
Acting Assistant Director (TV) Pg Hj
Mahari Pg Hj Abd Razak underscored this in a brief interview with the
Bulletin yesterday, after a contract agreement ceremony with local
production houses.
Yesterday's signing saw
representatives from nine productions houses and its script writers.
These nine production houses were each awarded with a contract to
produce nine local dramas. Signing on behalf of RTB was its Acting
Director, Hj Awg Yusup Hj Abd Rahman. --
