Selangor Mufti Delegation Calls On State Mufti Office

Bandar Seri Begawan - The mufti of the Malaysian state of Selangor Darul Ehsan and his delegation yesterday visited the State Mufti Office at the Prime Minister's Office.

Selangor State Mufti, S.S Dato' Setia Haji Mohd Tamyes bin Abd Wahid and his deputy, S.S Dato' Haji Abdul Majid bin Omar, as well as other senior officials are currently in Brunei for a two-day visit.

On their arrival, the Malaysian delegates were greeted by Brunei Deputy State Mufti, Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Setia Raja Dato Seri SetiaAwang Haji Suhaili bin Haji Mohiddin.

Also present was Dato Ahmad Bohari, State Mufti Director of Administration and other senior officers of the State Mufti Department.

Brunei State Mufti's vision is to be an institution of fatwa and religious knowledge with high authority and quality, and its mission is to maintain the authority of fatwa and the status of religious knowledge.

Among its functions are to produce fatwa and to provide Muslims with irshad or guidance on Islamic laws so that the ummah may receive the guidance and live by the laws and injunctions of Islam, thus manifesting a positive attitude towards Islam. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
