Launch Of Big Bike In Sept Fest

Begawan - Many people are expected at the Hassanal Bolkiah
Foundation Complex on September 24, when the four-day 6' Borneo Island
International Big Bike Festival will be launched by Pehin Dato Awg Hj
Adanan, Minister of Home Affairs and hosted by its organiser,
Persatuan Motosikal Darussalam (Pemoda).
It will feature riders from Brunei,
Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines as well as Europe.
There will also be appearances by
several important figures, including Dato Suhaili Abd Rahman, Karim
Abd Rahman Hamzah, Dato Douglas Primus and Datuk Yusof Mahal.
Pemoda's
president and chairman of the organising committee, Hj Abu Bakar Hj Md
Arshad, commented that it is going to be a grand event this year and
is part of Pemoda's strategic plan.
He said the association's main
objectives are to help promote and develop the Sultanate's tourism
industry, as participants are going to visit various places of
interest in the country, and attract more local youths to the sport.
At the launching ceremony, Pemoda
will also make donations to the Crown Prince Al -Muhtadee Billah
Orphans Fund as well as Pusat Ehsan.
A show with high-power motorcycles
and other interesting activities have also been planned.
Foreign delegates will be taken on
tours to the Royal Regalia, Malay Technology Museum, Persatuan Melayu
Keriam (Pesaka) and also Persatuan Tiba Kg Salambigar.
