All Geared Up For East Asean Business Summit

Bandar Seri Begawan - Preparations for the East Asean Business Summit are in place as the newly built Songket Banquet Hall at The Mall in Gadong looks set to welcome the 350 delegates from the EAGE region to discuss the future of BIMP-EAGA.

Delegates are advised to arrive early in order to find parking at either The Mall or the nearby Centrepoint. The banquet hall is on the 4'" floor and lifts are located in `he hotel section of The Mall. Registration begins from fpm today.

Among the countries who will be taking part in the summit are Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and beyond including the Northern Territory of Australia, the Asian Development Bank, the Asean Secretariat and many other regional bodies.

The sessions are highly interactive and are aimed at identifying what the current developments in the region are, what EAGA has to look forward to, as well as the opportunities and challenges ahead.

The summit is partnered by Brunei's leading corporate organisations such as Total, Brunei LNG HSBS, DST Group, Bearing Point, Royal Brunei Airlines and The Empire Hotel and Country Club. IT is being partnered by Brunei Press, RTB and Asia Inc.

The aim of the summit apart from discussing the future of BIMP-EAGA is to provide a platform for the Brunei business community to network and identify opportunities abroad, and also for overseas companies to do business in Brunei.

There will also be a trade and tourism expo on the ground floor of The Mall from today (September 19) until September 23, showcasing business and government agencies from the EAGE region.
