A Night Of Festivity

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Chinese Chamber of Commerce, BSB, one of the largest business associations in the Sultanate, on Friday evening celebrated the Mooncake Festival with a grand dinner and various performances at the Songkat Hall of the Riqun International Hotel, The Mall.

More than 1,200 people from the Chinese community attended the event organised by the Youth Entrepreneurship council and the Female Entrepreneurship council of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Among the invited guests attending the event were Pehin Kapitan Lela DirajaAwg Gob King Chin, Pehin Bendahari China Awg Onn Siew Siong, Mr Robert Koh, the President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, and other local prominent businessmen.

In Mr Robert Koh's welcoming speech, he applauded the organising committee for the great success of the event.

He also mentioned that the dinner was aimed at raising the Chinese Chamber of Commerce's education fund for students.

Meanwhile, during the co-chairperson of the organising committee Miss Koh Bee Moi's remarks she wished everyone a happy Mooncake Festival.

The event began with the cutting of ribbon by contributors to the education fund and was followed by the handing over of Education of Chinese Chamber of Commerce.

Apart from various dance and song performances, the audiences were also treated to a fashion show.

The festive night concluded with a lucky draw of B$15,000 to the education fund.

Miss Shirley Jong Siew Feh, the chairperson of the Female Entrepreneurship council, and Mr Lim Ting Guan, the chairman of the Youth Entrepreneurship council, presented the mock cheque to Mr Lee Eng Hong, the Head. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
