Walkway Bridge Building Campaign For Kg Lurong Sikuna

Bandar Seri Begawan - A walkway bridge building campaign was organised yesterday by the Lurong Sikuna Village Council with cooperation from the Brunei Muara District Office and other related government agencies.

The campaign was aimed at fostering closer relationship among the villagers of Lurong Sikuna.

Walkway bridges have been used by residents of Kg Ayer to get them from one house to another.

Such facilities have gone through tremendous development from using the traditional means of timber stilts to a tougher mixture of concrete.

Yesterday, as part of the activities organised- by the Lurong Sikuna Village Council, the guest of honour, Pehin Dato Awang Haji Dani bin Haji-Ibrahim, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, also lent a helping hand in the building of the new walkway bridge along with the other villagers.

Many brought their own tools to help in building the walkway bridge. Also present was the Permanent Secretary of Home Affairs, Dato Awang Haji Yusoff bin Haji Ismail. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
