JIS Excels In Science Contest

Bandar Seri Begawan - Around 90 students from Jerudong International School took part in this year's international Science Competition organised by the University of New South Wales in Australia. Students from Year 6 to Year 13 sat for the exams in May.

The competition tests students' ability to apply the Science they have learnt in school to a wide variety of problems.

Mr. Ken Hill, Head of Science at JIS, congratulated Science teacher, Mr. Chris Kruger, for preparing the students thoroughly for the Science competition.

He said, "The Australian Science Competition is a prestigious event and four of our students have achieved outstanding results. Many other students of the school have also done very well, reflecting the hard work and commitment they have put into their Science studies."

The four students who won gold medals for achieving the top grade in their respective year group in Brunei were Keren Johnson, Year 13; Jonathan Wong Jiunn Han, Year 12; Vincent Wong Ngie Fu, Year 10; and Nurul Atiqah Bte Shamir, Year 7. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
