Police Cadets Do SMSH Proud

Bandar Seri Begawan - Both the male and female police cadets of Sekolah Menengah Sultan Hassan (SMSH) in Temburong District recently did their school proud by bringing home the `Best Male Camp' and `Best Female Camp' awards during the 26th `Annual Nationwide Secondary Schools and Colleges Police Cadet Camps.

The five-day camp, which attracted the participation of about 550 police cadet students from 26 secondary schools and colleges, was held at Taman Mini Perayaan, Kampung Parit in Mukim Pengkalan Batu.

According to Cadet Sgt Major Cikgu Awang Sumbang, the teacher-incharge of the male police cadets of SMSH, more than 30 students represented the school at this year's camp.

He pointed out that the hard work and dedication of both the male and female students had paid off, as they emerged as the overall champions.

The best camp award was judged on the cadets' creativity in setting up camps and how well they decorated the surrounding compound.

The camp, which was organised by the Royal Brunei Police Force with cooperation from Co-Curriculum Education Department, was aim6d at fostering closer ties between police cadets of various schools in the country. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
