Bright Ideas On Doing Business

Begawan - Twenty-three enterprising individuals including 14
students from Sekolah Tinggi Perempuan Raja Isteri attended the
two-day LiveWIRE Brunei's Bright Ideas workshop, which came to an end
yesterday afternoon at the PGGMB building.
Two prominent facilitators, Pengiran
Redzuan Pg Haji Abbas, LiveWIRE Programme Director and Mr Steven Song,
LiveWIRE Business Counsellor, were on hand to enlighten the
participants with valuable knowledge on evaluating business ideas,
proper processes of starting a business, financial intelligence and
other relevant topics associated with good business sense.
One of the participants, 18-year-old
Hajah Izwaliani Haji Zulkarnain from STPRI, would like to take over
her family restaurant in the future.
According to Hajah Izwaliani the
workshop was very effective in keeping people abreast of the proper
way of setting up a business. She added that the workshop also gave
her a lot of contacts among$he participants.
The lower six student also found the
workshop to be a .good exposure for Bruneian youths.
Through the workshop, LiveWIRE Brunei
aims at increasing the awareness of young people about the world of
business, to promote starting up and running of business as a viable
career option as well as to recognise and reward successful young
entrepreneurs and to create the "seeds" of future entrepreneurs.
The next event to be organised by the
Live WIRE Brunei will be the half-day dialogue session with past
participants of LiveWIRE workshop and enterprising individuals.
The event is scheduled to take place
on September 27, 2005 from 2 to 5pm.
