By Liza Mohd

Kuala Belait - Belait Immigration enforcement officers raided four construction areas in Kuala Belait and searched more than 20 foreign workers.

An Indonesian worker suspected of engaging in a different occupation and not complying with the post in his employment pass was detained.

Four workers from Thailand and Indonesia failed to produce valid documents during the inspection, but were later released.

The raid codenamed 'Ops Basmi 73' was conducted by five Immigration officials led by Senior Immigration Officer Awg Mohd bin Hj Suhaimi.

The operation was also carried out to check on any breach of Immigration Act and Rules and the Passport Act and to detect foreign workers listed as runaways. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
