The Prime Minister's Office and
departments under it held an Israk Mikraj celebration yesterday at the
Civil Service Institute in Kg Rimba. Present as guest of honour was
the Deputy Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Dato Paduka Hj
Eusoff Agaki bin Hj Ismail.
In his speech, Dato Paduka Hj Eusoff
touched upon the need for officers and staff of the PMO to learn from
the lessons in the Israk Mikraj and exemplify the leadership of
Prophet Muhammad SAW, in conducting their daily tasks.
The ceremony began with the reading
of the Quran by Pg Azahari bin Pg Hj Adi, champion of the PMO Quran
reading competition. This was followed by opening remarks by the
director of the Civil Service Institute, Dr Azaharaini bin Hj Md Jamil.
The highlight of the gathering was a
management talk entitled "Memetik Rahsia Peristiwa Israk Mikraj dan
Applikasi Dalam Organisasi Anda" (Secrets from the Israk Mikraj and
Their Relevance in Your Organisation) by an invited lecturer from
Malaysia, Ustaz Hj Hassanudin bin Hj Mohd Yunos.
Among the teachings from the Israk
Mikraj, which Ustaz Hj Hassanudin touched upon, are in developing
self-confidence and trust, broadening mindset and network, developing
creativity and negotiation, building work efficiency, and respecting
others.
The Israk Mikraj celebration was an
annual project of the PMO. As the gathering yesterday was considered
an educational event, attendance was deemed to be part of the
participants' 100-hour training programme.
This year, the Israk Mikraj
celebration was jointly organised by the Department of Management
Services and the Civil Service Institute.
