Berakas Roundabout Gets Traffic Lights

Bandar Seri Begawan - Traffic lights, which have recently been installed at the Berakas roundabout by the Public Works Department, will soon be activated. It is the second roundabout in the country to have traffic lights, the first being Beribi roundabout in Gadong.

According to the Public Works Department, it has identified major road junctions and roundabouts that require appropriate measures to be undertaken in phases.

The works are part of the department's continuous effort together with the National Road Council to carry out observational work on major road junctions especially at roundabouts in the country.

It is also to ensure safety and smooth running of the road infrastructure networks.

The department hopes that the new traffic lights would ease traffic congestions around the area, especially during rush hours. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
