Huge Turn-Out At Malaysian Day
Muhibah Run

Begawan - Malaysian Day Muhibah (Goodwill) Run received
an outstanding response from the Malaysian community residing in
Brunei as well as the general public when more than 800 participants
turned up for the run held at the site next to the Malaysian High
Commissioner's residence on Sunday afternoon.
Organised
by Persatuan Warganegara Malaysia (PWM) with collaboration from the
Malaysian High Commission, the run was held in conjunction with the
48`h Malaysian National Day celebration.
The Malaysian Day Muhibah Run was
officiated by Mr Simon D. Gelan, the President of PWM and Datuk Ali
Abdullah, the Malaysian High
commissioner to Brunei. Also present was the chairman ofthe organising
committee, Mr James Lee.
This year's Muhibah Run was divided
into two categories - Endurance Run and Fun Run - which was
sub-divided into long and short trail run. Before the start of the
race, all participants took part in a warm-up session led by Fitness
Zone trainers.
For the second straight consecutive
year, Mr Cheng Chiew Lie won the 15km endurance race in 2 hrs 20
minutes. Second place went to Mary Ann Peterson followed by Mr Koh in
third place.
On hand to present the prizes to the
winners was Datuk Ali Abdullah, the Malaysian High commissioner to
Brunei. --
