15 Countries Represented At
Leadership Programme

Begawan - The 34th leadership programme organised by the
Institute for International Studies and Training (LIST), with the
support from the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI),
was conducted in Tokyo, Nagoya and Kyoto between September 5 and 10, a
press release said.
The programme was one of the first to
involve participants from developing countries, who worked together
"towards sustained development of the world economy" and to "foster
mature understanding in cultural, political and economic cooperation."
Participants from 15 countries took
part in the programme, comprising of "ministers, deputy ministers,
politicians, academics, business people, journalists and other opinion
leaders." The participants had the chance to exchange views with METI
officials and to visit major Japanese companies.
The participants also visited the
2005 World Exposition in Aichi during their trip to Nagoya, and heard
a presentation on the Greater Nagoya. Initiative (GNI).
The GNI aims to promote international
companies to venture in Japan. --
