Sheraton Passes Safe Food, Hygiene

Begawan - Sheraton Utama Hotel. in the capital has passed the
"Safe Food and Hygiene Standards" audit by Starwood Asia Pacific
Hotels and Resorts. The audit - together with the training for the
hotel's employees - took place at the Sheraton Utama's training room
on September 7 and 8.
The audit and training incorporated
international standards of good hygiene practices, which form the
Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) principle, as well as
local food safety laws.
It was conducted by Stuart Nunn, a
food safety consultant from Australia-based "The Environmental Health
Consultancy."
The "Safe Food and Hygiene Standards"
audit and training will continue to take place on a regular basis.
Among those involved in the training were employees from Kitchen,
Stewarding, Food and Beverage Service, and Purchasing.
According to a Sheraton Utama
representative, the purpose of the audit and training was to achieve
the highest possible food safety and hygiene standard in all areas of
food handling as according to international hotel standards.
This involves not only areas related
to food receiving, storage, preparation and service but also every
other aspects in the food process. --
