QAF Motor Inks Hole-In-Ones Deal

Begawan - Two BMWs comprising the X3 and 320i models and a Land
Rover Freelander TD4 will be the luxury car prizes to be given away
for Hole 9, 13, 7 and 17 in the Baiduri Bank Charity Golf 2005.
A charity draw will also be conducted
during the event, with electrical appliances and other attractive
prizes up for grabs.
Running for the 10th consecutive
year, the annual fundraising golf tournament is organised by Baiduri
Bank in collaboration with strategic partners QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd,
QAF Auto Sdn Bhd, QAF Transport Sdn Bhd, Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, QAF
Brunei, Ben Foods Sdn Bhd and MasterCard International.
The three-day tournament is scheduled
to take place at the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club from 30th September to
2nd October 2005.
The signing ceremony for the
sponsorship of the hole-in-one car prizes was held yesterday at QAF
Motor showroom in Beribi. Prince Abdul Qawi, the Deputy Chairman and
CEO of QAF Brunei signed on behalf of QAF Motor Group.
Signing on behalf of Baiduri Bank
meanwhile was its General Manager, Mr Pierre Imhof. Present at the
signing ceremony were the Deputy General Manager Retail Banking &
Branch Network of Baiduri Bank, Mr Ti Eng Hui and the GM of QAF
Transport Sdn Bhd and QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd, Dato Paduka Chua Pheng
Siong.
Also present were the GM of QAF Auto
Sdn Bhd, Mr Roger Fletcher as well as senior managers and officers
from Baiduri Bank and its strategic partners.
The Baiduri Bank Charity Golf
tournament, since it started in 1996, has been actively involved in
sponsorship and projects with welfare bodies such as the Child
Development Centre, Pusat Ehsan and SMARTER Brunei.
"We believe in supporting programmes
that offer educational opportunities to children with special needs in
the communities where we work and live," said Mr Pierre Imhof at the
signing ceremony.
"This is the key to helping them
embark on a successful future." The bank have over the years worked
very closely with government agencies and local charities on major
projects such as the Special Olympics, charity concerts, early
invention programmes and training workshops for local therapists.
"We applaud these charities for the
excellent initiatives they have implemented and look forward to the
important accomplishments that their work will achieve for the local
community."
He further disclosed that in
addition, the bank has also provided assistance to individuals
particularly children who require medical treatment overseas to
battle, against life- "threatening illness.
"We hope that through our support
these individuals are able to recover from their illness and lead a
productive life".
Touching on the charity golf
tournament, Mr Imhof said that the tournament provides an opportunity
for golfer to make a difference in the local community.
Their (golfers) participation in the
Baiduri Bank Charity Golf will not only get to enjoy a good game of
golf but at the same time contribute to local charities and help build
a brighter future for deserving children.
Open to any golfer with a valid
handicap of up to 28 for men and 36 for women, registration fee for
the Charity Golf is B$l00 with closing date for registration on 271
September 2005.
An exclusive MasterCard goodie bag
consisting of a golf towel and a cap will be given to the first 250
golfers signing up for the charity golf.
