MIPR Organises Celebration

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources yesterday held a ceremony to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Israk Mikraj at the ministry's main office.

Pehin Dato Dr. Haji Awang Ahmad bin Hj Junat, Minister of Industry & Primary Resources, was the guest of honour for the function.

The celebration began with the recital of verses from the al-Quran by Awg Mohd Fahmi bin Hj Metussin, who is Asean Musabgah Tilawah Al-Quran youth champion for 2004 and runner-up in the national al-Quran recital competition.

This was followed by a lecture given by Ustaz Dr. Hj Mohd Syahroni Hj Abd Kahar from the Islamic Dakwah Centre.

The event was also attended by heads of departments, senior officers and staff from the Ministry of Industry & Primary Resources. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
