Base Camp Opens

Bandar Seri Begawan - The 14th Brunei Association of Science Education National Science Camp was opened yesterday at the Berakas Forest Reserve.

The chief guest who officiated the camping was BASE Vice President Awg Nur Erawadi bin Hj Ibrahim.

He highlighted the financial backing BASE received from Brunei Shell Petroleum for the last 28 years, and recently from Ministry of Development, through the country's science and technology awareness programme.

He said BSP took its responsibility as a leading corporate citizen in Brunei Darussalam, committed to the country's sustainable development. It champions itself as a responsible partner in developing our human resources through various educational programmes.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Development, through the research and development unit, has given the trust and opportunity for BASE as well s other science organisations to leap forward and further develop the awareness of science and technology to our school children and general public.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
