Remanded For Illegal Fishing

Bandar Seri Begawan - The Bandar Magistrate's Court yesterday ordered a 2O-year-old Malaysian to be remanded for a week at the Jerudong Prison for two offences under the Fisheries Act.

Nasli Haji Hil is charged with using fishing lines without a valid licence to catch fish on Sept 6 in Brunei waters at the Maharajalela oil platform.

The second charge said he allegedly fished within the limit, being the master of a foreign fishing boat measuring 17.5 feet long and 2.11 feet wide. The case is fixed for mention on Sept 14.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
