By James Kon
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Defending champion Mohammad Junarto flew into Brunei
Darussalam yesterday with the hope of retaining his title for the
second consecutive year in the Brunei 9 Ball Invitational Cup 2005
at-the National Indoor Stadium starting tomorrow.
Junarto said he will give his best
shot in the tournament but hinted that with the large pool of good
players in the fray, everybody has a chance of winning.
"The player who makes the least
mistakes in the tournament will be the winner."
Junarto's confidence was also boosted
with his recentt success in the Indonesia's National 9-Ball Pool
Tournament where he won the gold medal.
When asked about playing the likes of
Efren Reyes, Junarto said that he has beaten Reyes in the 2003 SEA
Games with frames of 11-9.
If both players meet again this time,
Junarto promises to give his best in the game.
On Chao Fong Pang, the Indonesian top
player is very hopeful of repeating his feat against the man they
called the `Cold Face Killer'.
Lo Sui, the new coach of Junarto, was
a bit cautious of the defending champion's chances saying that this
year's meet is tougher with so many top players around.
While touching on the `Brunei Trick
Shot Master' which will begin at 9am at GHK Motor showroom tomorrow,
Lo Sui said Junarto is currently focusing more on professional 9-ball
game and lacks experience in the trick shot game.
"But Junarto will try his best
against the likes of Reyes, Chao and Yang Ching Shun."
Meanwhile, two Malaysian cueists,
Ibrahim bin Amir and Patrick Ooi, and the Vietnamese participants also
arrived yesterday confident of doing well in the tournament.
Patrick said he will try his best to
give his opponents a good run for their money while Ibrahim is quietly
confident of taking home the title. --
