Bangar Fest To Feature Malaysian Artistes

Bangar - Several Malaysian artistes including Nash, Siti Nurdiana and Nurul AF2 as well as Sarawakpopular artistes Wilson and Stella Philip will be performing to the local fans during the launching of the Borneo Carnival tomorrow in Bangar, Temburong.

The chief guest for the function, the Temburong District Officer, PgAbd Harris bin Pg Hj Shabudin, is expected to officiate the launching ceremony.

The carnival is jointly organised by Temburong Tourism of the Temburong District Office, Temburong Scouts Federation and the Tourism Department at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources.

According to the chairperson, Awg Metussin bin OKS Hj Tuba, the carnival is aimed at attracting foreign tourists especially those from Europe and America to Temburong.

He said through the various activities lined up during the carnival, the organisers hope to promote the unique culture and traditions of the various races found in the district, namely Malay, Kedayan, Chinese, Lun Bawang and Than

He said the stage shows at the launching will also feature colourful cultural performances by delegations from the neighbouring areas like Sabah, Labuan and Lawas.
