Al-Falaah School yesterday organised
a Musabaqah al-Quran ceremony and speech competition in three
languages - Arabic, Malay and English.
The competition was divided into two
categories. Category A was for students from Primary One to Three
while Category B was for those from Primary Four and Five.
The event was part of the school's
annual activity held before the end of the third term school holiday.
The competition was held to instil
and promote the habit of reading among the school children as well as
to expose their public speaking skills.
The chief guest at the function was
the principal of the school, Cikgu Syed Hamid bin Syed Ibrahim Al-Tahir,
who also presented prizes to the winners in each category.
The winner in Category A for the
English Section was Abdul Halim bin Anwar while Muhd Lutfir Rahman bin
Hj. Morsidi came second.
Md. Jaffnie bin Md. Shalahudeen
finished third.
For Category B, first-place winner
was Md. Wafiuddin bin Saipol Bahrin while the second place went to Dk.
Khadijah Syukriah bte Pg. Ali. Md. Faizuddin bin Murni meanwhile came
third in the competition.
The winner in Category A for the
Malay section was Ahmad Zaim bin Murni and second place went to
Nabilah Nazifah bt Dr. Hj. Ismuhadi while Humaidatul Fikriyah bt. Md.
Zamri had to settle for third placing.
For Category B, Md Najib bin Aktiar
emerged as champion while Md. Syahnur Nizam bin Mohamad settled for
second place.
Fatimah
Amalina came third in the competition.
The winner in Category A for the
Arabic section was Dk. Umi Kalsum bte Pg. Haji Sazali and second place
went to Dk. Nur Syafiqah Hashimah bte Pg. Haji Ismail while Farah bte
Ahmad Kutubuddin came third in the competition.
For Category B, the winner was Md.
Akmal Naqib bin Khairuddin. Nur Nabilah bte Majedy came second while
Zainual Ariffin bin Sabtu had to settle for third place.
