Discounted DBP Publications For Tutong Residents

Bandar Seri Begawan - Avid readers can now purchase publications of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) Brunei at discounted prices until September 9 on the ground floor of Halim Plaza Hotel in Tutong.

With 10-20 per cent discounts, public members are also able to buy past DBP magazines at discounted prices.

Public Relations Officer of DBP Brunei, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Siti Zaleha Hj Kaprawi said the sale is organised in conjunction with the meeting of the Language Council of Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia and Indonesia (MABBIM).

She said the book sale is aimed to inculcate a reading culture among youngsters in Tutong.

She urged readers to grab the opportunity to purchase DBP books and magazines at discounted prices.

"There had been complaints in the past from the people of Tutong who were not able to get DBP publications at bookshops.

"They told us that they had to drive all the way to the capital to get DBP's latest publications.

"So now is their opportunity to get DBP books at discounted prices without the need to go to our bookshops in the capital," she said.

"Our main objective is to provide opportunity for everyone to read so as to cultivate a culture of reading."
