Wore-Woes Of Flat Dwellers
By Rosli Abidin Yahya

Bandar Seri Begawan - Residents occupying flats near the old offices of the Immigration and National Registration Department in the capital pleaded for their access roads to be improved and the drainage system enhanced so that they need not have to worry during heavy downpours.

They said that heavy rains that lasted for more than an hour in the past not only caused the roads inaccessible but also flooded the ground floor of the flats.

They said the access roads to the flats are filled with potholes causing inconveniences to motorists.

They hoped the entrance to the flats can be improved as the drains are not properly covered as the metal gratings covering the drains have disappeared.

"We hope the access roads can be resurfaced and the drainage system improved so we need not worry a lot during the rainy season," said residents. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
