First Ever E-Brunei Telephone Directory Now Available

Bandar Seri Begawan - GTE Directories (B) Sdn Bhd with the support of Verizon, USA, and in collaboration with JTB will launch the first ever electronic Brunei Telephone Directory in the form of a CD-Rom. The launch will be held at the JTB booth at the e-Applications expo, held in conjunction with the National Summit of Information Society (NASIS) from September 7 till 10, at International Convention Centre in Berakas.

The e-Applications expo is organised by the Ministry of Communication.

The e-directory in CD-Rom is one of the value added services for the Yellow Pages hardcopy, said General Manager of GTE Directories (B), Mr James Lee.

He said the CD-Rom is a formulated tool of the 2005/06 issue of the Brunei Telephone Directory, adding that it offers an excellent search metaphor for extensive information and a wider range of innovative specialty which include "hyper links" to valuable customers who have e-mails or websites listed.

During the expo, visitors to the JTB booth will stand a chance to win attractive prizes worth up to $15,000 by participating in the `drop of the stub'. The stub is a bookmark, which can be found in the 2005/6 Brunei Telephone Directory. Participants just have to fill out their name, IC number and contract number. The draw is open to all.

The JTB booth will be opened from 10am to 6pm on September 7, and collection of the stubs will end 12 noon on September 10. Mr Lee said winners will be announced in the press and a prize presentation ceremony will be held at JTB Headquarters in Berakas at a later date. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
