PAPRSB Nursing College Marks 19th
Anniversary

Begawan - The Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah (PAPRSB)
Nursing College celebrated its 19th anniversary of establishment
yesterday morning.
The ceremony, which was officially
launched by guest of honour Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Intan binti Haji Md
Salleh, Director General of
Health Services, Ministry of Health,
took place at the college premises.
Datin
Paduka Dr Hajah Intan in her welcoming speech said that over the last
19 years, the nursing college has produced 1,057 graduates, which
account for 63 per cent of the nurses working under the Ministry of
Health.
According to her, from the years 2005
till 2009, the position for nurses and midwifery will increase to
another 725 in the Ministry of Health.
She also hoped that the college would
continue to produce more graduates in line with the country's needs
and continue its effort to conduct relevant and up to date health and
medical services programmes.
Touching on new developments in
educational tools in the era of globalisation, the guest of honour
stressed that the nursing college should also utilise up-to-date
facilities like e-learning, e-education, e-health and simulators to
raise the knowledge and skills of the nurses.
Capping off her speech, Datin Paduka
Dr Hajah Intan expressed hopes that the PAPRSB Nursing College, as one
of the Sultanate's health agencies, would continue to strive and face
the challenges of the future.
Also present at the ceremony was Haji
Julaini bin Haji Abd Latip, Deputy Principal of the college and staff
of the college.
After the launching, the guest of
honour toured the exhibitions that included health screening,
midwifery skill lab, basic skill lab and a mini bazaar, in conjunction
with the celebration. --
