Royal Audience To Outgoing Envoys

Bandar Seri Begawan - His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon consented to receive in audience separately the outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam, the outgoing Canadian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam and the outgoing Republic of Korea Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam.

The monarch first consented to receive in audience Mr Haji Mohamed bin Omar Ahmed Aideed, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam since October 2002.

The ruler then consented to receive in audience Mr Paul S H Lau, the Canadian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam since October 2002.

Lastly, His Majesty consented to receive in audience Mr Kim Woong-nam, the Republic of Korea's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Brunei Darussalam since March 2003.

Also present during the audience ceremonies at the Istana Nurul Iman were Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II Pehin Dato Lim Jock Seng and Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office Pengiran Dato Haji Abu Bakar bin Pg Seri Indera Pg Hj Ismait.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah yesterday granted a farewell audience at the Baiai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan, to the outgoing Canadian High Commissioner Mr Paul S H Lau and his spouse, Madame Shirley Lau.

HRH later granted farewell audiences to outgoing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sultanate of Oman Mr Mohammad bin Omar bin Ahmed Aideed and the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Mr Kim Woong-nam. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
