Battle Of The Bands Contest Extends Closing Date To Sept 9

Bandar Seri Beagwan - The closing date for battle of the bands contest, which offers attractive cash prizes and an opportunity to perform with a famous Indonesian band Dewa sometime in December, is extended to September 9 due to overwhelming response.

Organised by Sri Citra Management and Duan's Rok'' Skool (DRS) Entertainment & Production, the contest entitled Bands Explosion 2005 - is open to musicians who are citizens or permanent residents of the Sultanate as well as foreign talents currently in Brunei Darussalam who possess valid working passes.

The winning band will bring home $3,000 while the first and second runners-up will receive $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. Other prizes will include best vocalist ($300 cash and one return air tickets to an Asean destination), best guitarist (1 unit guitar), best bassist (1 unit guitar), best drummer (i set of drums) and best keyboardist (l unit keyboard).

Forms to participate in the contest must be sent to DRS Entertainment & Production at Block A, Pg Hj Damit Complex, Lambak, Jalan Berakas.

All participants are needed to attend a briefing on September 11 and heats will be conducted for three days from September 18 to 20 at DRS Studio in Lambak.
