Foreigner Issued Special Pass In Belait Raid

Kuala Belait - A foreigner was arrested and issued a special pass for allegedly violating Immigration laws.

The Enforcement section of Belait district's Immigration Department told the Bulletin that the foreigner, who was holding a work permit as a driver, was found to have been engaged in business activities for the past two months.

The department conducted the raid upon a tip off given by members of the public.

The raid was led by Senior Immigration Officer; Awg Yunus bin Omar and involved four other officers.

The department urged members of the public to come forward with information on immigration offenders and to call the department's Bandar Seri Begawan hotline at 2383555 or 238777, or the Belait hotline at 3331879. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
