SM Rimba Host Of Ict Training

Begawan - Rimba Secondary School has been appointed by the
Ministry of Education as the new host school for ICT Subject Committee
to replace SMPDSM effective August 1.
The school has also been appointed by
the Secondary School Section of the Department of Schools at the
ministry as the training centre for International Computer Driving
License (ICDL) course for secondary school teachers.
The first batch of 30 teachers from
government secondary schools and colleges in Brunei had the first
session of their training at SM Rimba yesterday.

Pg Hj Ahmad, who is also the Adviser of the ICT Subject Committee, in
her opening address stressed on the importance for teachers to equip
themselves with up-to-date ICT knowledge and skills in teaching and,
learning.
SM Rimba as the host school of ICT
Subject Committee has drawn up a series of training programmes on ICT
for secondary school teachers in the Sultanate.
The courses to be conducted this year
include Computer Studies Coursework Project, Effective Use of
Interactive Whiteboard, Multimedia Coursework (Hyperstudio) and ICDL.
The participating teachers are
required to attend four sessions of the training that is held once a
week.

Chong Jon Fong, Head of ICT Department of SM Rimba and Chairman of the
ICT Subject Committee, will conduct the training.
The goal of training is to meet the
ever increasing demand for ICT knowledge and skills among teachers
towards creating an innovative and resourceful workforce. --
