AF3 star Mawi to enthral local fans at live concert

Malaysian singing phenomenon Mawi thanked his fans in Brunei Darussalam for their efforts in supporting the upcoming Akademi Fantasia 3 concerts to be held at the JPCC Amphitheatre in Jerudong on September 23 and 24.

Mawi, the overall winner of this year's reality talent search programme, Akademi Fantasia, relayed his thanks in a phone call to Pg Hj Abu Bakar Pg Hj Othman, the Managing Director of De Hayat Musical & Production.

Mawi said he was touched by the response of fans in Brunei Darussalam towards AF3 concerts which will be held in three weeks' time.

"He also thanked Brunei fans who have voted for him during the early stages of AF3 as well as those who continue to vote for him using Malaysian phone lines.

"He was absolutely thrilled when told that tickets for the AF3 concerts have been grabbed by fans at a faster rate. He could not wait for his first ever visit to Brunei," said Pg Hj Abu Bakar.

The $20-tickets for the two nights have been sold out in ten days.

Mawi has been the biggest singing sensation and phenomenon ever discovered by Malaysia.

During the final concert of AF3 last August 6, he garnered 60 percent of the total votes causing the other three contestants reeling far behind him.

More than 150,000 copies of his album have been snapped by fans in just a week, making him the most successful artiste ever discovered by Malaysia.

Pg Hj Abu Bakar said he will be going to Kuala Lumpur in the next few days to finalise the performances at the concerts with former AF students, namely Mawi, Felix, Amylea, Marsha, Yazer, Keifli, Ekin, Akma, Reza, Amy, Aidil, Idayu, Fuad and Elliza.

Entitled Konsert Akademi Fantasia 3 Live in Brunei Darussalam, tickets for the concerts are priced at $100, $60, $40, $30 and $20 each. The $100 and $60 ticket holders will be able to purchase Meet-Fans tickets at $25 for them to get closer with their idols.
