MTSSR Students Display Cookery

Begawan - Chef Suhairi Idris, Executive Chef of The Empire
Hotel & Country Club, expressed delight at being invited as one of the
three judges for the Apprenticeship Competition organised by the
Training Kitchen of the Hospitality and Tourism Department at the
Sultan Saiful Rizal Technical College.
Twelve of the best students had been
selected to take part in the competition, stated the hotel in a press
release.
"This is a yearly competition to
award the best apprentices as part of the college's goal to build
selfconfidence and at the same time to enhance creativity and skills
in cookery," said Fatimah Haji Mahadi, one of the teachers from the
college.
"I am indeed honoured to have been
chosen as one of the judges and it is extremely promising to see the
talents, as well as the interests, of these budding chefs," said Chef
Suhairi Idris.
The Empire Hotel & Country Club is
pleased with the increasing interest shown by the students in the
hospitality industry and actively encourages the development of these
students by partaking in initiatives such as this.
At the same time, the hotel regularly
welcomes young trainees who are attached to the various departments of
interests at the hotel. --
