Call To Adopt Healthy Lifestyle

Bandar Seri Begawan - "Healthy Living - The Canadian Way" organised by the High Commission of Canada was launched yesterday with the Permanent Secretary at minsitry of Health, Dato Paduka Serbini Ali, as the chief guest.

The Canadian High Commission in cooperation with Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical College (MTSSR) organised - the event to encourage Bruneians to adopt to a healthier lifestyle and eating habits in response to the call of the health ministry, ten selected MTSSR students guided by two instructors were provided with Canadian ingredients and were given one week to create their own dishes.

Yesterday's project also showcased cooking (culinary) talents and creativity in using maple syrup, blueberries, Canadian wild rice, Canola oil and soy-base products known for healthful and nutritional values.

Canadian High Commissioner Paul S.H. Lau said he was pleased to be standing with the chief guest in promoting a healthy lifestyle in the country.

Guests included senior government officials and their spouse, representatives from MoH and Ministry of Education and executives from the food and beverage industry.

They viewed a display of Canadian ingredients, healthy living brochures and guidelines, and tasted several dishes prepared by MTSSR students. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
