Great Response To B.Mobile Launch

Bandar Seri Begawan - There was an overwhelming response from the public as the new 3G mobile phone operator, b.mobile, officially launched its services yesterday at The Mall in Gadong.

About 36,000 people have registered during the 3G trial period that started two months ago. And yesterday hundreds more queued up at The Mall to register for the 3G communications that not only enable the users to be connected through voice calls but also video calls.

Azema, Senior Manager Customer Care and Services of b.mobile, said yesterday the company received an overwhelming response from the public during the official launching. Hundreds lined up from morning until the afternoon and the number of customers registering in a day could reach up to 2,000.

Due to the great response, b.mobile even had to increase the number of registration counters and call in more staff from the b.mobile headquarters to man the counters at The Mall.

Azema said that registration counters are also available in the other three districts.

Customers in Tutong District can go to the YHH Development Building in Kg Petani to register, while people in Belait District can visit the b.mobile office in Jalan Pretty in Kuala Belait. Business hours are 8.30am till 6pm.

Meanwhile, people in Temburong District can register at the JTB Headquarters in Bangar, which is open from 8.30am till 3pm.

With the introduction of two type of packages - prepaid and postpaid - the majority of customers who registered yesterday opted for the postpaid plan.

A number of booths showcasing the latest 3G mobile phones were also set up at yesterday's launching.

To entertain the public, there were performances by local artistes, violinists and dancers as well as lucky draws and even an abseiling opportunity for the more daring people.
