St Andrew's Students Pay Visit To OGDC
By Lyna Mohammad

Bandar Seri Begawan - Some 40 Business Studies students from St Andrew's School recently paid an educational visit to the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) in Seria.

OGDC officials were on hand to brief the visiting students on various interactive exhibits around the centre.

The routine and rigors of a day in the life of an oil rig crew was one of the interactive displays that the students enjoyed.

They also experienced the machine-generated earthquake that left nothing to the imagination after a series of startling tremors and aftershocks.

Meanwhile, the more daring students agreed to be spun around inside a gyroscope and thus came close to feeling what an astronaut experiences during a NASA flight training session.

The morning excursion was organised to promote an active interest in recent developments in the petroleum industry.

Apart from that, it also encouraged the visitors to adopt a more receptive mindset in regards to Science and Technology.  -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
