Discipline Important In Studying

Bandar Seri Begawan - Eighty Primary Six students from Sekolah Rendah Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien recently visited SM Sayyidina Ali, KualaBelait, accompanied by a senior master, CikguJohan DMS Dian and other teachers.

The visit aimed to expose the students to the facilities and to the learning environment of SMSA, a government secondary and form six school.

The students attended a briefing by the principal, Mr Cheong Huat Joo, who outlined the historical background of SMSA.

The principal underscored the importance of discipline in study habits and attitude. A successful student is one who is disciplined in the way he studies and the way he behaves in school, he said.

He stressed the need for students to be aware of the challenging times ahead for them. They must be better prepared for the competitive world and the best way of preparing themselves is through education.

The school, formerly known as Sekolah Menengah Kg Pandan, changed its name officially to SM Sayyidina Ali on August 3, 1996. The Sixth Form level was introduced in March, 1997. The school has 1322 students.
