Youth Development Centre Offering
Special Skills Courses

Begawan - The Youth Development; Centre, Ministry of Culture,
Youth and Sports in Lambak Kanan is currently offering various courses
for unemployed youths enabling them to acquire the expertise needed in
vying for jobs that require special skills.
The courses offered for intake year
2006/2007 include computer and office operation, cooking and catering,
cake and pastry making, sewing and embroidery, and cosmetics and
hairstyling.
The centre also intends to run new
courses like welding, air-conditioning and refrigeration, male
hairstyling, plumbing, and vehicle body repairs. However, these
courses depend on facility availability and infrastructure progress.
Applications are open to unemployed
youths aged 18 and above. Course applicants must be citizens or
permanent residents and are still single.
They must show optimism and
enthusiasm for the courses-they intend to pursue, and are required to
be in good physical shape and condition.
They must also know how to read,
write and count. However for computer and office operation courses,
applicants must have passed at least three subjects at O level.
Special consideration will be given
to unemployed applicants who have left school for a long time.
Applicants are required to fill up
application forms obtained from the centre and to return them together
with copies of birth-certificates IC smart cards, examination
certificates, school leaving certificates, school documents and
certificates, and passport photographs.
The completed forms and enclosed
documents must be delivered to Pusat Pembangunan Belia, Jalan
Lebuhraya Muara-Tutong Lambak Kanan Berakas BC 2515, Negara Brunei
Darussalam not later than 4 pm on Monday, 31st October.
