Raid In Belait District Nets 14

Bandar Seri Begawan - Fourteen foreigners were detained for allegedly committing various Immigration offences in a raid conducted by the Enforcement Section of Belait's Immigration Department.

The 14 apprehended included' ten Indonesians, three Indians and a Malaysian, who was found to be employed while on a visit pass.

A total of 40 foreigners were inspected during the operation codenamed 'Ops Basmi 48', conducted- at various construction sites in Belait district.

The raid went on for about two hours and was led by Senior Immigration Officer, Awang Yunus bin Omar. The Immigration Department once again reminded those on visit passes not to take up employment. -- Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin
