Batik Fashion Show With High Tea At Airport Restaurant

Bandar Seri Begawan - Royal Brunei Catering and Dimas Batik Sdn. Bhd. Sunday afternoon collaborated to bring a `Fashion Show & High Tea' at the Airport Restaurant.

The event, first of the two Fashion & High Tea show, enabled patrons at the Airport Restaurant to enjoy a fashion show while sampling the high tea delights on offer.

A total of eight models yesterday showcased silk batik designs from Dimas Batik, who were among the first to bring ready-made and custom designs of their Batik couture into Brunei Darussalam.

Located at the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation" building, Dimas Batik has participated in a number of fashion shows since its inception in 1998 and some of its notable forays into fashion couture include the uniforms for the Sea Games hosted by the Sultanate in 1999 and also the Batik shirts worn during APEC 2000.

Zulkif Mustafa, Airport Restaurant Manager, said that the collaboration with Dimas Batik carne about after patrons suggested for some form of act or show while they enjoy their high tea. He added that the fashion show was a great opportunity to introduce new designs for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.

Another `Fashion and High Tea' show will take place next Sunday, Sept 26, from 3pm until 5.30pm showcasing more designs from Dimas Batik.

Tickets for the Fashion Show & High Tea at the Airport Restaurant are priced at $16 and $10 for adults and children respectively.
