By Maya Salleh
Bandar Seri
Begawan - Dayangku Sarah binti Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman was
born on April 9, 1987 at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS)
Hospital in the capital.
The third and youngest child of
Pengiran Salleh Ab Rahaman bin Pengiran Haji Damit and Dayang Rinawaty
has today become the jewel of the Sultanate.
The Royal Bride has captivated the
admiration of the Sultanate's loyal citizens and residents - with her
evident grace and charisma - as the bride of His Royal Highness the
Crown Prince Pengiran Muda Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, with their
solemnisation of union in marriage that took place last Saturday,
September 4.
The week-long event of the Royal
Wedding, in its full traditions and customs, will culminate today with
the 'Bersanding' ceremony, followed by a Royal procession around the
capital where Brunei's loyal subjects, residents and visitors will
gather to wish the Royal Couple a happily married life.
Dayangku
Sarah's education began in 1993 at the St Andrew's School in the
capital, where she achieved outstanding results in her Primary
Certificate Education examinations in 1998.
She continued her education at the
Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College, where she excelled in both
her Brunei Junior Certificate Education and Cambridge General
Certificate of Education ('0' Level) examinations in 2001 and 2003,
respectively.
Currently, Dayangku Sarah is
undergoing pre-university education at the same college. In addition,
the Royal bride also took the initiative to study French, in which she
attained excellent grade.
Popular among her teachers, Dayangku
Sarah also actively participates in sports and charity runs.
The Royal bride is admired by both
her teachers and peers for portraying grace, courteous manners,
intelligence and a positive attitude in her every undertaking.
An avid sports enthusiast, Dayangku
Sarah actively participates in netball and other extra curricular
activities, which also saw the Royal bride partaking in charity runs
organised by the Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan Science College.
In 2002, Dayangku Sarah joined her
parents and brothers in a 4WD expedition to China and Mongolia between
May 7 and May 23.
During the school term holidays,
Dayangku Sarah participated in a research activity at Kuala Belalong
Research Centre, together with her peers. --
